I'd like to try the glossy look without polishing, using acetate inside the mold. (I happen to have a roll of it lying around.) Does it need to be sprayed with Pam, or will it just peel off the concrete? Thanks for the very informative post!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15160214387654625682noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1682380449398474590.post-1101174442481136542013-08-06T22:08:51.669-07:002013-08-06T22:08:51.669-07:00Excellent post on Curing Film. Concrete mixes usually have more than enough water initially. However, that water evaporates quickly unless you take proper measures/precautions. The process by which concrete hardens is called hydration. The longer the hydration process continues the stronger and denser the cement paste becomesAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11997766101665741657noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1682380449398474590.post-33780897388148588622013-05-04T14:01:42.173-07:002013-05-04T14:01:42.173-07:00Wow! I have been experimenting with concrete countertops for awhile and finally have enough confidence to provide a customer with a decent product. I have been using cheng sealer, wax, and polish and the sealer is a penetrating. I was thinking of using a different sealer that is more affective towards preventing etching from citrus foods and liquids. Gonna be delivering my first set of countertops to my first customer for install. Wasn't sure on how to charge, but came up with a $55.00 square foot rate since this is my first. I have been told not to charge less than $65.00. What are your thoughts?Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09681306446659102100noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1682380449398474590.post-64154549184212336792013-02-11T18:47:34.134-08:002013-02-11T18:47:34.134-08:00Thanks for your great instructions and step by ste...Thanks for your great instructions and step by step instructions. I just flipped the countertops and removed the molds. They look great so far. My wife would like me to sand them so you see more of a rough look before I buff and polish them. My question is this; when I start with my diamond pads what will happen to my pieces of glass I have in the concrete.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04836799901082651905noreply@blogger.com
