Check out the dolls my students made in the after-school program. It's interesting how some of the dolls look like the girls who made them.

    That was also very interesting. The group which had the most immigrants in it also had the most blonde dolls. I think it was some sort of expression of integration and also a kind of conformity effect.I had in that class three girls newly immigrated to America: Tayibba, Tina, and Damini. They all three made blonde dolls.

    And I still think the dolls ressembe the girls, even when they have yellow hair.
