Unlike my two previous attempts at Nanowrimo, when I failed to get beyond 20,000 words the first year and 1,000 words the second, this year I won't even be starting. Is it possible to write a novel and look after a six month old baby at the same time?
Vigo was about that age the first year Erik and I tried. I think I could have finished if it hadn't been for this diabolically fascinating puzzle game installed on the laptop Erik had borrowed from his work for me to use. I had a lot of time on my hands when Vigo was a baby, but every baby is different.
The year I won NaNoWriMo, our son was six months old, and I was working full time! True, Vigo was easy-going, and Tracy was very supportive. But I won't have anyone say that I was not doing a highish percentage of my share of the parenting! Maybe the writing was exactly the release I needed.
